The K-State Pollution Prevention Institute (PPI) is housed within the College of Engineering at Kansas State University. Started in 1989, PPI is dedicated to serving Kansas businesses and organizations in environmental and pollution prevention technical assistance. Entirely grant-funded, PPI provides a number of services:

|K-State PPI operates the Kansas Small Business Environmental Assistance Program (SBEAP) whose goal is to assist small businesses (approximately 100 employees or less) with understanding and complying with environmental regulations.||Funded through various grants from the EPA, KDHE, USDA, and Department of Energy, PPI serves as great resource for assisting in furthering your pollution prevention goals. Please contact PPI to discuss your needs and see how we might assist you.||The Pollution Prevention intern program pairs top-level engineering and environmental science students with Kansas business and industry. PPI recruits, hires, trains, and provides partial funding for the interns who work on-site at the Kansas facility for 10 weeks during the summer.
